That’s Pretty Clever

The Dice Game Everyone Gets Hooked On

• Players: 2-4 (also solo)
• Best at: 2
• Playtime: about 30 minutes
• Price vibe: roughly 150-200 kr.

Why That’s Pretty Clever Is the Right Buy Right Now

That’s Pretty Clever is a roll-and-write game. You roll dice, pick a few, and tick off boxes on your score sheet. Sounds simple, and it is, but the way your choices chain into each other creates that irresistible “just one more game” feeling. It earns every bit of its cult following.

It is also very easy to carry, set up and teach. All you need is a table, a pencil and a competitive streak you have been hiding.

Why 2 Players Is the Sweet Spot

Fast and Fluid

With two players, there is hardly any waiting. When it is not your turn, you still get to use the leftover dice, so you stay involved the whole time. With four players, the game can start to feel a little slower.

Easier to Focus on Your Sheet

The real game is you versus your own score sheet. With two players, you can concentrate on building your combos without being overwhelmed by what everyone else is doing.

Quick Rematches

A two-player game flies by, so you can easily fit in a couple of rounds. It makes a great “before bed” game for couples.

What About 3-4?

It works well with more people too, and it is a nice family game. It just takes a little longer.

Who Should Buy It?

• Couples who like quick, clever games
• Anyone who enjoys puzzle-like scoring
• Families who want a game with minimal setup
• Travellers (it fits in a handbag)

What Will It Cost?

That’s Pretty Clever typically sits at around 150-200 kr. That is about the same as a fancy lunch sandwich with a coffee, only with much better replay value.

Verdict: Easy to Learn, Hard to Put Down

If you want a punchy, satisfying game that plays beautifully with two, That’s Pretty Clever is one of the smartest buys on this list. Pun fully intended.
