Here’s one I genuinely enjoy teaching. It’s quiet. It’s clever. It rewards patience.

You build a hidden grid of cards. Lowest score wins. Reviewers keep calling it “addictive,” and honestly, they’re right. You never quite know your own hand. That’s the hook.

It plays up to eight people without turning into a shouting match. That makes it one of my favorite games for families. No direct attacks. No table flipping. Just quiet number-crunching and the occasional dramatic sigh.

It also sneaks in some math practice, so it works well as games for kids, without them noticing they’re learning.

Fair warning, from someone who’s lost this way: a bad final card flip can wreck your whole game. Reviewers mention this too. It stings. But that sting is also what makes winning feel so good.

Long games can run past an hour. Bring snacks. And maybe a small pep talk for whoever gets unlucky at the end.
