Why Things in Rings Is the Right Buy Right Now

Things in Rings is a clever deduction game built around a Venn diagram of rings on the table. One player, the Knower, knows the secret rule for each ring. Everyone else places Thing cards into the diagram and tries to work out the rules from what is accepted. The goal is to be first to get rid of your cards, and the fun comes from guessing why a “banana” belongs in one ring but not another.

It is quick, easy to teach and just a little bit brainy. If you like games such as Codenames or Wavelength, this is a great addition.

Why 4 Players Is the Sweet Spot

One Knower, Three Detectives

With four players, you get one Knower and three Finders. That is a lovely balance: enough minds to crack the rules, but not so many that the Knower is overwhelmed.

Just Enough Competition

Three Finders race each other to empty their hands, which makes the game tense without being chaotic. You can see what others place, and learn from their mistakes.

Short Turns, No Boredom

Everybody is thinking and placing cards, so nobody is waiting long. The game stays lively and quick.

What About 2-3 or 5-6?

It works at every size. For two players, use the co-op mode. Five or six is wilder but a bit slower to solve. Four is the best balance.
